The ICRC Delegation in Libya – temporarily located in Tunis - seeks to fill the following position:
Assistant to Water & Habitat Department (WatHab), 100%
The position is based in Tunis
Our successful candidate will have a proven track record in Administrative and support work that will enable them to independently execute office tasks and projects related to the department. A background in engineering or environments studies would be of added value. They will have excellent time management and organizational skills as well as an ability to establish and maintain a network of internal and external contacts that will ensure a smooth and effective running of the department requirements. A proactive, solution-oriented personality is a definite must.
Main Responsibilities:
Administrative Assistance to the Water & Habitat Dept.
- Provides full support and assistance on all adminsitrative matters to the Wathab Coordinator
- Prepares and attends meetings then draws up meeting minutes and follows up on action points required
- Keeps good track of the department orders, contracts and expenses
- Ensures that the department’s filing of reports and institutional documents is up to standards
- Compiles various statistics, drafts correspondence, prepares presentations and produces financial reports
Training Programmes
- Assists actively in organisation of training courses, which includes, but is not limited to, sending out invitations to participants, attending related meetings, booking venues, securing equipment, preparing certificates and all other logistics concerned
Translation and Reporting
Capable of performing translations from Arabic to English and vice-versa
Assists in the collection and compilation of periodic reports of the department
Selection Requirements and Experience:**
University Degree or Professional Diploma (Administration, Engineering or any other related disciple preferable).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic. French is an asset.
Ability to produce high qulaity work with accuracy and attention to details
Experience in translation of documents from Arabic to English and vice-versa
Awareness of the political, social and cultural assigned environment
Respects diversity and enjoys working in a multi-national, multi-ethnic environment
Good time management skills, even under pressure
Good computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
