Join the Protection team of an international humanitarian organization. The ICRC delegation in the Philippines is hiring for a:
Protection Field Officer
(based in Cotabato)
MAIN TASKS
Participates in the assessment and monitoring of humanitarian situation in the area as well as the general political/socio-economical/security situation
Assists in the implementation of activities linked to the protection of civilians and support to detention activities
Contributes to the ICRC’s networking activities with various stakeholders including those from Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao
Promotes and disseminates the principles of international humanitarian law
Liaises with other ICRC departments for organization of specific events (i.e. IHL training, photo exhibit, etc.; links with the local media)
Coordinates with Philippine Red Cross (PRC) local chapters for joint activities
Prepares written reports on a periodic and project basis
Establishes and maintains contacts with various groups, including individual beneficiaries, humanitarian organizations and local authorities
Contributes to the formulation of objectives, plan of actions and preparation of budgets
Travels regularly within the assigned areas
REQUIRED PROFILE
A successful candidate will:
Have a bachelor's degree preferably in public administration, social work, sociology or equivalent
Have a minimum of 4-years work experience in a similar field or position
Be fluent in written and spoken English, Tagalog, and Maranao and/or Maguindanaon
Possess good team leadership skills
Have a good understanding of the social fabric and conflict dynamics in Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao provinces
Possess good analytical skills
Have ood communication/reporting skills
Have good computer skills (MS Office)
Have excellent organization skills, be rigorous and meticulous
Be a self-learner, autonomous and practical
Have good driving skills with valid driving license
Be available to travel regularly within area of coverage
