Your role
As the Hospital Project Manager (HPM), you lead the Hospital Management Team (HMT) and coordinate the hospital project related matters.
You are responsible for implementing the hospital project in coherence with the set objectives and strategies, ensure an integrated use of policies, procedures and management practices in order to meet the set goals in coordination with the hospital team.
Main responsibilities
- Coordinate the hospital project and all ICRC internal and external relations linked to the project
- Develop plans of action, lead their implementation and, when required, adapt the orientation of the project to fulfil the objectives
- Lead the ICRC Hospital Team and facilitate internal communication at all levels
- Represent the ICRC hospital project amongst local authorities and other relevant stakeholders for issues related to the project
- Have overall responsibility for the strategy, the development and implementation of the project
- Make relevant contributions to ensure a proper continuum of care between the primary, secondary and tertiary level of health care, including physical rehabilitation
- In collaboration with the Hospital Team, ensure accurate data and information collection and analyse it for adequate implementation of the hospital project within the frame determined by the delegation
- Ensure a systematic and accurate reporting system for all hospital activities
- In cooperation with the country Health Coordinator, define budget and follow-up on the costs and all human resources issues for the hospital project
- Identify training needs and oversee the creation of capacity-building programs and their implementation
Education and experience required
- Strongly motivated by the humanitarian world
- Degree in Medicine/ Nursing (minimum of 3 years of study for nursing degree)
- Valid medical or nursing license to practice
- Degree in project management
- Minimum 2 years of humanitarian field experience as a Project coordinator and/or Hospital project manager
- Minimum B1 level in English
- Fluency in another language of ICRC interest: French, Arabic, Spanish, Russian and or Portuguese
- Previous experience within the Red Cross & Red Crescent movement is an asset
Desired profile and skills
- Solid experience in the humanitarian project management cycle
- Positive, flexible and able to adapt to challenging living conditions and/or unstable security environment
- Good organizational skills, capacity to manage and work within a multicultural team in a challenging environment
Our operational context
- In line with the principle of neutrality, the ICRC dœs not assign personnel to a country of which they are nationals
- Our field staff members must be in good health and will have to do a medical check-up prior to departure in the field
- Our field staff members are prepared to accept unaccompanied postings (i.e. no spouse, partner, children or dependents) for at least the first 24 months
- In line with our security guidelines, our staff members must hold a manual driving license
