Main responsibilities:
Assists in the implementation of ICRC forensic programs/activities under the supervision of the Regional Forensic Coordinator (RFC)
Assists in formulating, implementing and monitoring the achievement of objectives and additionally provides technical support to the local counterparts as required
Assist the RFC in assessing the needs of forensic community regarding the law enforcement and prison system in finding appropriate solutions
Executes administrative and office work related to the project independently
Develops and maintains contacts with interlocutors and with all concerned external stakeholders on forensic issues and ensuring adequate stakeholder mapping as appropriate to the Forensic programs undertaken by the delegation under the supervision of the RFC
Assist the RFC in the development of policy-level issues related to promoting technical and non-technical best practice associated with the management of the dead and clinical forensic medicine in Sri Lanka by all concerned stakeholders (e.g. ensuring an appropriate legal framework on the management of the dead, data management related to the dead)
Drafts written reports in relation to the findings and meetings with local interlocutors
Required qualification and experience:
Medical doctor holding MD or equivalent.
Post-graduate training and qualification in forensic pathology and forensic practice relevant to the post.
6 years’ experience in field of activity
Fluent in written and spoken English and local language/s
Very good computer skills and analytical skills
Very good communication and interpersonal skills
Very good knowledge of political, social and cultural assigned environment
Age below 45years
