Your role
The Talent Acquisition Unit is in charge of sourcing, attracting and recruiting specialist and generalist staff members to meet the ICRC's needs.
As a team, we put “stakeholder management”, “candidate experience” and “mutual support” at the centre of our daily work.
We are looking for an experienced Recruiter to join our team based at the Geneva headquarters, exclusively tasked with meeting the talent needs of our “mobile” staff members who will be sent to the field. You will play a key role in building relationships and acting as a trusted partner with internal hiring managers and the candidates, as well as delivering a high quality service throughout the entire recruitment cycle, scaling our recruiting practice as we grow as an organization. Above all, you will be responsible for attracting and hiring the ICRC’s most important asset – its people.
The recruiter is responsible for the delivery of an end to end Talent Acquisition service for a given portfolio of populations in line with the operational needs: proactively tracking human resources needs, designing appropriate assessment approaches, assessing candidates' applications, conducting interviews and making recruitment decisions in conjunction with the units concerned or with the Operations.
Main duties and responsibilities
The majority of recruitments are done in pools and the recruiter is also in charge of specific recruitments or regional need recruitments. The recruiter will:
- Partner closely with and be the trusted adviser to the Métiers and all hiring partners on all activities surrounding Talent Acquisition;
- Engage with and ensure a best-in-class candidate experience throughout the whole recruitment process;
- Share knowledge and best practices and contribute to the continuous developments of the Talent Acquisition activities and tools;
- Serve as a standard setting expert, piloting and rolling out new solutions with a coaching approach to ensure stakeholder engagement;
- Maintain accurate recruitment data, and perform regular recruitment trend analyses;
- Master the use of the recruitment module of our HRIS (Success Factors) and other relevant tools;
- Support the employer branding and act as a Digital Ambassador of the ICRC on platforms such as LinkedIn;
- Participate, and lead as assigned, on development work and project streams.
Education and experience required
- University degree or equivalent in Human Resources or Business Administration;
- A significant and proven experience in in-house recruitment with an international exposure;
- Proven ability to manage large scale recruitments (which includes great organisation and prioritisation skills);
- Previous experience interviewing and working in/for multicultural environments;
- Previous experience in the humanitarian and/or voluntary sector a very strong asset;
- Excellent command of English is mandatory, and knowledge of French is a strong asset;
- Computer literate and experience in the use and maintenance of an application tracking system and databases, preferably Success Factors is an advantage.

- Ability to proactively embrace and drive positive transformational change and to take smart risks that improve performance;
- Capacity to work under pressure and handle stress;
- Respect for confidentiality and HR ethics.
