PROTECTION TEAM LEADER
The Protection Team Leader(PTL) leads the implementation of protection activities in accordance with the objectives and strategies defined by the delegation in a specific zone. Under the supervision of the Protection Coordinator (hereafter Prot-Co), the PTL leads the implementation of protection activities, in accordance with the objectives and strategies defined by the delegation in Thailand.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, supervises and monitors the work of staff involved in protection activities.
- Coaches, trains and provides technical support to staff involved in protection activities.
- Contributes to the development and definition of the delegation's policies and objectives and implements protection activities.
- Contributes to identifying needs in terms of human and financial resources.
- Supervises the collection of protection-related information.
- Liaises with other delegation teams involved in protection activities.
- Drafts internal protection reports and representations to stakeholders at local and regional levels.
- Contributes to developing and maintaining the network of stakeholders involved in protection-related issues at local level.
- Analyses the situation on issues relating to correctional matters at national level and contributes to the delegation’s implementation of the strategy for negotiating the resumption of detention activities in favour of detainees held in places of detention of the Department of Correction (DoC);
- Supervises/advises the PAT team on the collection, analysis and reporting of sensitive protection issues, such as the treatment of suspects under police/army detention;
- Supervises the implementation of RFL-related activities in DoC and immigration places of detention, tracing/missing activities and the family visits program;
- Contributes to programmatic follow up and reporting (MOR, MTR and PfR) of Protection activities in Thailand.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 8-10 years’ experience in similar fields with other organizations (international, governmental or non-governmental)
- University degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent command of English
- Computer proficiency
