It has been providing humanitarian aid in the Philippines for more than 70 years, with a permanent presence since 1982. The ICRC works closely with the Philippine Red Cross, its primary partner in the country.
Join the Finance and Administration team of an international humanitarian organization. The ICRC delegation is looking for an:
Accountant
(Based in Davao)
The Accountant handles bookkeeping for the sub-delegation. S/he processes financial data, provides end-of-month reports independently, takes part in cash flow management under the supervision of the Accountant, and respects financial procedures and guidelines.
MAIN TASKS:
· Ensures receipt of invoices daily
· Records the invoices in IRIS accounting software through pre-logging
· Creates vendor and updates information in IRIS accounting software
· Prepares cheques, processes bank transactions, and pays bills
· Enters cash and bank transactions in IRIS and prints vouchers
· Files the accounting documents at the end of the accounting period
· Participates in the monthly closing activities
· Knows, applies, and complies with all administrative and financial procedures and deadlines linked to his/her work.
REQUIRED PROFILE:
A successful candidate should have:
· A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent
· 2 years’ minimum work experience in general accounting
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
· Fluency in written and spoken English
· Ability to treat information confidentially
· Initiative and ability to work independently
· Capacity to work in a multi-cultural environment
· Knowledge of accounting software
