Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Field Officer
(Based in Iligan)
The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Field Officer (MHPSS FO) contributes to the overall implementation of the ICRC MHPSS programs in Mindanao within a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of the MHPSS delegate, in coordination with the Health, Protection, and other departments of the ICRC.
MAIN TASKS:
· Assesses the MHPSS needs of the target population and determines their needs, also ensures proper MHPSS assessment/analysis of the field situation (e.g. health centres, communities, etc.).
· Contributes to the prioritization of planning and running of MHPSS interventions in Mindanao (programs, activities) for the specific ICRC target population and areas of operation; especially for the families of missing persons, related to Marawi crisis.
· Provides psychosocial support directly to beneficiaries at individual, family, and community levels.
· Provides direct specialized mental health service to beneficiaries if decided by MHPSS Delegate.
· Monitors and ensures the proper follow-up of the MHPSS activities in ICRC assisted health facilities and communities, as well as the evaluation of the MHPSS programs.
· Works in the field for long periods, moves across Mindanao, as necessary.
· Maintains regular contact with all interlocutors, especially with the health authorities, at various levels and stays informed about the security situation.
· Assists and eventually takes care of the preparation and implementation of training sessions.
· Collects, organizes, and participates in the analysis, of all data related to the MHPSS activities in Mindanao, together with the MHPSS delegate.
· Contributes to the annual planning (PfR) and budget follow up.
· Implements the MHPSS strategy for Mindanao, developed and approved by the delegation of the ICRC in Philippines.
· Contributes to report writing and documentation in relation to MHPSS programs/activities as required, under supervision of the ICRC MHPSS Delegate.
REQUIRED PROFILE:
A successful candidate will have:* · Bachelor university degree in psychology or social work
· Minimum of 2 years work experience in psychosocial support related field
· Extensive knowledge of Maranao culture, community dynamics, local psychosocial support and social services and system
· Skills for psychosocial support service delivery
· Fluency in written and spoken English, Maranao and Visayas.
· Proficiency and literacy in the use of computer programs (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.)
· Comprehensive and accurate analytical skills
· Skills for planning, organization, assessment and program implementation
· High level of communication, negotiation and social skills
· Ability to take initiative and work both in a team and with autonomy in multidisciplinary approach
· Ability to work under stressful conditions while maintaining patience, perseverance, self-confidence
· Flexibility to work several weeks in the field and to travel to different areas
· Cultural and geographical knowledge of Mindanao areas.

· Able and willing to perform systematically incorporated self-care actions in day-to-day activities
· Experienced in working with the administration of DSWD and/or medical structures in the Philippines
