The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a Geneva-based humanitarian organization that protects and assists victims of armed conflicts and other situations of violence without discrimination. It has been providing humanitarian aid in the Philippines for more than 70 years, with a permanent presence since 1982. The ICRC works closely with the Philippine Red Cross, its primary partner in the country.

Join the Legal Department team of an international humanitarian organization. The ICRC delegation in the Philippines is looking for:

Law Interns

(Based in Makati)

MAIN TASKS:

· Provides legal research for the ICRC Customary International Humanitarian Law Study

· Provides research, writes papers on issues related to International Humanitarian Law, other fields of public international law, domestic legislation and other matters, as necessary

· Provides administrative and other support for ICRC activities and initiatives

REQUIRED PROFILE:

A successful candidate will have:

· A law school education for at least three years

· Studied and shown strong interest in international humanitarian law and/or public international law

· Excellent legal research and writing skills

· Excellent Filipino and English communication skills

· The ability to work in a multicultural environment

The ICRC offers

· A meaningful internship within an international humanitarian setup

· A compensated internship

Closing date of application: 28 May 2019

Duration of contract: Fixed term internship

Start date: 27 May to 26 July 2019
