It has been providing humanitarian aid in the Philippines for more than 70 years, with a permanent presence since 1982. The ICRC works closely with the Philippine Red Cross, its primary partner in the country.

Join the Finance and Administration team of an international humanitarian organization. The ICRC delegation is looking for an:

Administrative Assistant (Receptionist/Cashier)

(Based in Davao)

The Administrative Assistant (Receptionist/Cashier) is the first person to receive visitors and guests of the ICRC Sub-Delegation in Davao, as well as the main entry point for phone calls to the staff in the office and general inquiries. Being at the forefront, s/he must be able to handle and adjust accordingly to different audiences or situations, embodying professionalism at all times. S/he is also responsible for physical processing of cash transactions and the integrity of physical cash balances in the office, strictly respecting and applying ICRC’s rules on financial management.

MAIN TASKS

  • Welcomes visitors, provides them with information and directs them to appropriate staff member, updates lists and tables, telephone numbers, addresses, etc.

  • Answers and redirects incoming calls and answers callers’ questions

  • Performs some secretarial work and keeps track of telephone bills

  • Handles the office’s cash disbursements and payments

  • Prepares invoices for payments (by cash, check, bank transfer)

  • Carries out daily cash count and reconciliation

  • Participates in cash flow management, ensuring sufficient liquidity; handles cash replenishment from the bank

  • Files and reports on relevant documents

  • Ensures respect for financial procedures and guidelines and explains them to clients

REQUIRED PROFILE:

A successful candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in management, finance or equivalent

  • 2 years’ minimum work experience as a Receptionist/Cashier and/or in administrative support or related capacity

  • Capacity to deal with public visitors and address phone calls

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks

  • Fluency in written and spoken English

  • Ability to treat information confidentially

  • Initiative and ability to work independently

  • Capacity to work in a multi-cultural environment

  • Aptitude to work well under pressure and can adapt to sudden change of priorities
