Health Field Officer

(Based in Makati)

The Health Field Officer (HFO) contributes to the implementation, running, and monitoring of the Health Information Project in places of detention, under the supervision of the detention doctor. S/he will be part of a flexible and mutually supportive team, where each member is responsible for an area of responsibility and specific files, but all HFOs are expected to be able to support each other in carrying out their tasks when needed.

MAIN TASKS:

· Participates in the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of the Health Information Project

· Coordinates, liaises, and builds networks with local stakeholders to facilitate communication and coordination of activities, thereby ensuring a more efficient project implementation

· Provides support in organizing meetings, trainings, capacity building, and workshops for stakeholders

· Supports in the troubleshooting of system problems in collaboration with other members of the project team

· Contributes to data gathering to support evidence-based management and analysis of the project

· Contributes to data collection and report writing

· Participates in analysis of the overall implementation and contributes to evidenced-based recommendations for the project team

· Visits / travels to project sites / offices and places of detention for monitoring or troubleshooting of issues and problems

· Interprets at meetings and translates documents into local languages as needed

· Represents the ICRC vis-à-vis national authorities

REQUIRED PROFILE:

A successful candidate will have:

· At least 2 years’ experience as Nurse/health professional in public health project implementation

· Experience in Health Information Systems project is very desirable

· Above average computer skills in MS Office

· Proven knowledge in systems strengthening especially Health Information Systems

· Registered with the Professional Regulation Commission

· Very good command of spoken and written English and Tagalog

· Knowledge of public health and the Philippine health system

As an asset, a successful candidate may have:

· Experience in the use of epidemiologic tools and statistical software

· Relevant advanced university degree

· Public speaking and presentation skills
