External Consultancy Contract
Please note that this will be an external contract and does not entail the ICRC employment conditions. If you are not an independent consultant, the contract will be managed by an external agency partner. *
We are looking to recruit a consultant who will support the project team for a global project on medical coverage for the ICRC employees worldwide. The project will include an analysis of all current practices within the organisation and propose scenarios for implementation.
Main duties and responsibilities
Examine, analyse and assess local and regional medical coverage practices.
Analyse the impact of various policies and regulations on medical coverage practices.
Provide expertise on market practices per country/region and develop benchmarks.
Develop SWOT and long-term sustainability analysis and cost-benefit analysis.
Liaise with the project team members and experts on legal, compliance and cost matters.
Desired profile and experience
In-depth knowledge and understanding of Swiss and global medical benefits and coverage plans (social security coverage, self- insurance plans, private insurance plans) and market practices.
Solid experience as Medical Benefits specialist with either an international organisation or NGO, a private insurance company or insurance broker, having worked on projects with an international scope, or in a private multinational company having worked in the field of international medical coverage.
Experience with health benefits in developing countries and/or in regions affected by conflict are an asset.
Strong analytical skills.
Languages: English: excellent spoken and written skills required, French language is a strong asset.
Master’s Degree in Business, Health or related relevant field.
Desired starting date: ASAP
Length of the contract: 12-15 months
Activity rate: 50-60%
