Join the Health team of an international humanitarian organization. The ICRC Mindanao sub-delegation is looking for a:
Health Field Officer
(Based in Davao)
Under direct supervision of the Head of Office (HoO) and technical supervision of the Health Delegate, the Health Field Officer is regularly in the field, contributing to the implementation, running, and monitoring of the first aid activities (especially for combatants) and the emergency responses in cooperation with the health team according to the objectives set out in the delegation's annual planning in all Mindanao priority areas. Based on the skills required for this position, s/he has the capacity to oversee the programs with autonomy, and actively contributes to the planning and coordination of activities with the whole health team.
MAIN TASKS:
Handles first aid training for combatants and develops, readjusts, and follows up on the guidelines under the technical supervision of the health delegate
Implements and follows up on the first aid activities with combatants, and supports the Health Field Officer (HFO) in each specific area of responsibility (AoR)
Supports the evaluation and implementation of an emergency response, if needed, and remains in the affected area as long as necessary to support the HFO in charge, avoiding disruption of the health activities
Ensures continuity of the health operations through deployment in an Aor to cover the HFO in charge in case of absence
REQUIRED PROFILE:
A successful candidate will have:
A university degree in the health sector or equivalent (nursing, medicine)
3 to 5 years’ work experience (including 2 years of clinical experience) with minimum 2 years’ experience in the humanitarian sector
Good knowledge and understanding of public health and local health services and systems
Experience as a first aid trainer
Fluency in written and spoken English, Tagalog, Visayan, Maranao and Maguindanaon
Good organizational skills
Good analytical skills
Good communication skills
As an asset, a successful candidate may have:
Experience in working with the administration of health and medical structures in the Philippines
Good interpersonal skills and a good network of connections with local health authorities
Awareness and respect of professional and institutional ethics, particularly with respect to confidentiality
Knowledge of the assigned geographic area
