Join the cooperation team of an international humanitarian organization. The ICRC Mindanao sub-delegation is looking for:
Movement Cooperation Officer
(Based in Iligan)
The Movement Cooperation Officer contributes to developing and implementing the delegation's objectives for cooperation with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (the Movement) in line with the ICRC’s Movement policies and in consultation with the local operating National Society (NS). S/he contributes to building positive relationships between the ICRC and other Movement components, particularly the NS of the country where s/he is assigned.
MAIN TASKS:
Assumes main responsibility for the Cooperation file in the Iligan and Cotabato areas of responsibility (AoR)
Provides advice and recommendations on the strategic orientations of the Cooperation file
Ensures smooth implementation of operational partnership with the NS and troubleshoots if necessary
Coordinates among Movement components in Iligan and Cotabato AoR within the agreed coordination frame(reporting 75% Iligan and 25% Cotabato)
Facilitates frequent and regular exchange of information between ICRC Iligan and Cotabato offices and relevant Philippine Red Cross (PRC) chapters in reference to operational partnerships and capacity building initiatives
Liaises –as much as required by the intensity of the concerned operation - with PRC or other Movement partners when required
Strengthens coordination with PRC chapters and/or other Movement partners working in the ICRC priority areas
Ensures routine reporting to both direct and functional supervisors on the concerns and issues between ICRC Iligan and Cotabato vis-a-vis PRC chapters
Leads in defining relevant strategies for operational partnerships and capacity building of PRC chapters within the AoR of Iligan and Cotabato
Visits, on a regular basis, PRC offices and provides advice, extends support and coaching specifically, but not limited to, its operations partnership with the ICRC
Advices ICRC Iligan and Cotabato offices proactively on the operational capacity and response of PRC chapters on a given situation
Prepares the necessary documentation for meetings and writes minutes of meetings, when applicable.
Assists in the implementation and roll-out of the Cooperation activities under the planning for result (PfR).
REQUIRED PROFILE:
A successful candidate will have:
At least 3 years’ work experience in a field relevant to Movement Cooperation
A bachelor’s degree in a related field
Excellent command of spoken and written English
Good computer skills
As an asset, a successful candidate may have:
- Experience working in a similar field in an international setting with the ICRC or other Movement Components
