Purpose of the post
The Internal Controller participates to the implementation of a sound control environment enabling ICRC organizational and operational efficiency, reliability of financial reporting and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
The ICRC is currently hiring 2 Internal Controllers.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Conducts targeted risk based field visits (spot checks) to assess the implementation and effectiveness of internal controls and compliance mechanisms. Provide risk and compliance related report results to management along with recommendations for further improvement, ensure follow up.
- Guides, advises and monitors internal control system across specific areas of activities in scope, in order to mitigate identified risks
- Strengthens the ICRC's lines of defense, in close cooperation with Support Units, Internal Audit, the Global Compliance Office and other Compliance offices
- Develops and delivers presentation to increase awareness and understanding of internal control, compliance and ethical conduct across the organization
- Participates to Fraud detection and prevention
Education and experience required
- University degree or equivalent in business administration, logistics or other related disciplines,
- 5 years of international assignments in the field of Logistics, Finance & Administration or Human Resources (preferably in Logistics or Finance & Administration)
- Internationally recognized certification such as CHL, CIA, CFE, etc. is an asset
- Experience in medium to large multinational organizations

- Commitment to self-develop in internal control, risk or internal audit
- Good level of MS Office literacy
- Hands-on, results driven yet able to work well within a team
- Ability to communicate actively and effectively in French and in English (written and spoken), other languages such as Spanish and Arabic is an advantage
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
