What we do
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.
Purpose
Switchboard and hotel bookings
Main duties and responsibilities
- Answer and routes incoming calls in timely and courteous manner, and respond to callers inquiries
- Manage hotel room bookings for the various needs of the institution, (such as accommodation for delegates visiting headquarters or groups of employees participating in courses, seminars or meeting.)
- Perform light administrative work.
Education and experience required
- 3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Call system operator diploma/certification or equivalent an asset
Desired profile and skills
- Fluent command of spoken and written French and English and good knowledge of German.
- Have a good knowledge Word et Excel
- Sense of organization, of service, flexibility, punctuality and autonomy.
- Good stress management.
