DRIVERS

(Mogadishu, Kismayo and Garowe)

Based in Mogadishu, Kismayo and Garowe the drivers will facilitate movement of staff, visitors and offer other transport services within the assigned regions; ensuring compliance to ICRC standard security procedures and transport guidelines.

Your Responsibilities

1. Drives different types of light ICRC vehicles and strictly adheres to internal security procedures and National traffic rules;

2. Facilitates movement of staff and visitors within the region as planned and ensures safety and security of the passengers and the vehicle;

3. Picks and drops off staff and official visitors at the airfield/airport and facilitates immigration and customs formalities and local travel requirements;

4. Adheres to the internally set guidelines on motor vehicle maintenance, fuelling and safety;

5. Ensures day to day proper maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned vehicle;

6. Updates the supervisor continuously on the state of the roads, vehicle and security;

7. Fills in the vehicle Logbook for every movement;

8. Checks and inspects daily the technical condition of the car;

9. Collects and delivers mail, documents and other items;

10. Ensures availability of all required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle Logbook, tools, map of the City/Country, first aid kit and necessary spare parts.

Your Profile

1. Secondary School Education Certificate;

2. 2 years’ work experience in a similar position in a Humanitarian environment;

3. Fluent in spoken English and Somali languages;

4. Good interpersonal and customer service skills;

5. Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment;

6. Experience in driving 4/4, automatic, and manual transmissions vehicles;

7. Defensive driving and basic mechanical skills;

8. Ability to work in a multicultural environment;

9. Valid Certificate of Good Conduct;

10. First Aid certificate from a recognized institution will be an added advantage; Knowledgeable of the traffic rules and is familiar with regulations stipulated in the Traffic Act.
