The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), a neutral and independent humanitarian organization, has a vacancy at its Mission in Athens for a local position**:**

Financial and Administration Manager (M/F)

The F&A Manager is responsible for Human Resources, Finance, Premises, Maintenance, IT and Travel Management files of the ICRC Mission in Athens. The F&A Manager ensures respect of all the ICRC guidelines and procedures in compliance with the Greek legislation. The F&A Manager reports to the Deputy Head of Mission and works in close collaboration with Paris F&A Manager and HR Manager. He is the direct supervisor of a team of 4 (logistics, maintenance/IT, accounting and welcome).

General Overview

  • He/she is responsible for the overall HR management of the mission employees (15 staff members);

  • He/she ensures the working conditions for the mission employees are up to date relatively to ICRC policies and Greek legislation;

  • He/she supervises the administration and logistics and ensure procedures are existing and applied;

  • He/she ensures the implementation and compliance with the financial, accounting and budgetary procedures;

  • He/she follows up the management of the ICRC bank account, maintains e-banking procedures up-to-date, proceeds to payments in accordance with ICRC practices;

  • He/she ensures that the delegation has adequate premises and common standard equipment for its residences, attributes premises in line with the delegation's housing policy, ensures maintenance is regularly performed and security in the premises is adequate;

  • He/she ensures the Travel Office supports ICRC teams in the field with adequate transportation/accommodation booking and visas in accordance with Greek legislation and ICRC standards;

  • He/she represents the ICRC towards other external private parties such as banks, suppliers, landlords etc.

Ideal profile

  • University degree or professional diploma; Master’s degree will be considered an asset;

  • 5-8 years’ work experience in a similar field; working experience in the humanitarian sector is an asset;

  • Fluent in Greek and English, other languages an asset;

  • Very good computer skills;

  • Capacity to work autonomously and proactive attitude;

  • Confirmed management skills;

  • Professionalism, integrity and respect of the confidentiality;

  • Confirmed negotiation skills;

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, diplomacy and organizational skills;

  • Ability to work in a team in a multicultural environment.

Employment conditions

  • Open ended contract with probation period;

  • Salary according to ICRC policy and previous experience (on 14 months basis);

  • Health insurance covered according to ICRC policy;

  • Monthly metro pass and participation to lunch tickets.
