Join the Water and Habitat team of an international humanitarian organization. The ICRC Mindanao sub-delegation is looking for a:
Water and Habitat Head of Program
(Based in Davao)
As Head of Program, you will develop, implement, and coordinate strategies and projects in Mindanao that help ensure access to potable water, sanitation and shelter facilities in communities affected by armed conflict. You will also lead in developing projects aimed at improving the living conditions in jails and prisons in Mindanao. You will engage with a wide range of stakeholders and lead, guide and supervise team members.
MAIN TASKS:
Leads and supervises Water and Habitat team members in ICRC offices in Mindanao including consultants and daily workers when applicable
Develops program strategies and project proposals based on comprehensive situation analysis and upon consultation with team members and stakeholders on the ground
Participates in missions to conflict- or disaster-affected areas in the Philippines to implement and manage emergency response in close collaboration with concerned ICRC teams as well as with the Philippine Red Cross
Prepares and manages the program’s overall budget
REQUIRED PROFILE:
A successful candidate will have:
- A strong motivation for and commitment to the humanitarian mandate of the ICRC
- At least eight years of relevant work experience in project management, focusing on water management and construction
- An excellent ability to lead staff based in multiple locations and facilitate coordination within a multi-cultural and international setup
- The capacity to engage and liaise with various external contacts such as government representatives, suppliers, and ultimately, beneficiaries
- Proficiency in both English and Filipino
- Willingness to travel frequently
A successful candidate may have:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant course and/ or a postgraduate degree in water resources engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering, or engineering management
- A professional license in Engineering
- Prior experience in humanitarian or development work
- International experience or exposure to international best practices for water management and construction
- The ability to speak in one or more of the local languages used in Mindanao
