As part of the support team, the HR officer is responsible for staff administration within the ICRC Mission in Greece. S/he provides HR services in line with the ICRC’s and the delegation’s policies and the applicable laws and regulations.
Job Description
s/he ensures that staff-management policies are applied correctly.
s/he ensures that new employees are welcomed and well-integrated.
s/he carries out administrative follow-up on HR-related issues (conflict management, training, etc.).
s/he is involved in local recruitment (posting, screening, interviews, selection, etc..) and briefings.
s/he acts as a focal point for general HR issues.
s/he monitors and ensures compliance with Greek labour laws and staff regulations.
Externally, s/he interacts with local administrative authorities.
s/he creates/updates contracts and job descriptions for newcomers. Updates the organizational chart at all times.
s/he is responsible for staff file management according to ICRC’s guidelines and legal obligations.
s/he is responsible for sending payroll variables to Payroll Company, after validation of the HR Manager, compiling overtime and any other compensation items.
s/he supports line managers with planning of leaves and ensures proper recording of leaves and alerts line managers accordingly.
s/he monitors the tool of Performance management for staff, prepares reports on setting the objectives, intermediary review, final review, respecting the deadlines of submission at all times.
s/he supports the implementation of training policies and assists staff on learning and development opportunities.
s/he is the focal point of answering employees’ questions.
s/he participates in the adaptation of ICRC policies to Greek legal framework.
s/he is responsible for HR Space for resident employees of the mission. Provides qualitative support to employees on HR Space.
s/he participates in writing HR procedures and takes initiatives to propose new procedures/policies to the HR Manager and Management.
s/he may be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.
Ideal profile
University degree or professional diploma in HR or a similar field.
2–3 years’ experience in HR or a similar field.
Experience in Humanitarian context considered as asset.
Fluent (speaking, reading, writing) in Greek and English. French considered as asset.
Computer literate, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of ERP (preferably SAP) a strong advantage.
Good organization/problem solving/communication/training skills and respect of Ethics at work.
