Join the Water and Habitat team of an international humanitarian organization. The ICRC delegation in the Philippines is looking for:
WATER AND HABITAT ENGINEER
Based in Cotabato City
Reporting to the Water and Habitat Head of Program, you will assess the living conditions of communities affected by conflict and situations of violence, and in jails and prisons in the Cotabato area of responsibility. You will define, develop and design technical interventions that will help ensure access to potable water, sanitation, and environmental hygiene and shelter facilities. You will design and manage projects and engage toward a wide range of stakeholders.
MAIN TASKS:
- Works within multidisciplinary teams to perform technical assessments on living conditions in jails focusing on availability of space, water supply, evacuation of solid waste and sewage, food storage and preparation, vector-related disease control and ventilation
- Takes the lead in conducting complete assessments of communities to identify their main needs in the field of water, sanitation, environmental hygiene and shelter
- Identifies technical solutions and designs, and proposes projects in line with standard project cycle management practices
- Launches, follows up and monitors the implementation of technical projects while visiting the project site on a regular basis
- Contributes to written reports and makes technical proposals and maintains an up-to-date overview of the project financial plans and cash requests
- Compiles and submits monthly financial plans and cash requests
REQUIRED PROFILE:
Selection requirements
- A licensed engineer with a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent
- At least four years work experience in engineering project management
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Fluency in Maguindanao and/or Maranao an asset

Willingness to travel frequently
