Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Country Manager, the Logistician 2 provides technical and operational support in the areas of purchasing, warehousing, stock management, import-export activities and purchasing, in accordance with the ICRC’s logistics standards and local legislation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Leads and supervises a medium logistics team, distribute activities, controls the quality of work in a large-size context
Provides technical support and training for the operation
Assists the Head of Logistics Unit in daily tasks
Implements and runs complex logistic procedures
Liaises with other logistics units (e.g., fleet, warehousing, dispatch, AirOps and ImpEX)
Liaises with Dispatch and Logistics on the status and estimated time of arrival of goods
Analyses situation and proposes contractual partners
Develops contracts, maintains and updates a network of providers
Liaises with other logistics units (e.g. Supply Chain, fleet, warehousing, dispatch, AirOps and ImpEX)
Participates in LOG budget elaboration and implementation in the field with the help of Logistics Site Manager (s)
Replaces Logistic functions in Sub Delegations and/or Abuja
Deploys for Emergencies and set up Logistics structures for the ICRC
Ensure compliance with Logistics standards (set-up, processes and procedures).
Manage proper use of Logistics Information System (JDE/IRIS).
Assists vehicle fleet manager in managing the fleet issues in the field
Keep a track of all fuel usage in the field in collaboration with mechanic and workshop manager
Ensure that customers are provided with effective, efficient and flexible services according to the needs of programmes and assisted health care facilities.
Assure customers and ensure that all inquiries, requests, complaints and problems are taken seriously and treated as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Advise staff in extracting data from JDE and DFR, needed for their planning and reporting.
Ensure that the Logistics Tableau are used and understood by the field logistics team
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent higher education degree in business administration, logistics or similar field. Post Graduate or Master's Degree is an asset.
Minimum 4-5 years of experience in logistics, administration or similar position
Fluent with a wide knowledge of English
70% traveling to the field to provide the required support to the Logistics Site Manager(s), replacing any LOG functions in the field and in Abuja
