It has been providing humanitarian aid in the Philippines for more than 70 years, with a permanent presence since 1982. The ICRC works closely with the Philippine Red Cross, its primary partner in the country.

Join the Protection team of an international humanitarian organization. The ICRC delegation is looking for a:

Restoring Family Links Field Officer

(Based in Makati)

S/he assists the Forensic Specialist in the implementation of missing and forensic programs and activities in the Manila delegation. S/he supports the formulation of programs, projects, policies, and proposals within the missing, forensic, and delegation strategies. When required, the Restoring Family Links (RFL) Field Officer represents the ICRC towards external interlocutors and in various fora, under the supervision of Forensic Specialist. S/he also provides contextualized advice on the judicial and medico-legal systems as it pertains to missing persons and death enquiries.

MAIN TASKS:

· Provides technical and administrative support for missing and forensic programs and activities at the delegation.

· Contributes to the forensic analysis of the context.

· Maintains an overview of the forensic situation in the areas covered by the Manila delegation, including the collection, analysis and archiving of data relevant to the missing and forensic programs.

· Contributes to written internal reports and prepares mission reports.

· Develops and maintains contact with interlocutors at all levels.

· Assists in the preparation and follow-up of internal and external meetings, events, seminars, and workshops.

· Disseminates ICRC information of forensic science, missing persons, and humanitarian action.

· Represents the institution at all times, follows the ICRC Code of Conduct and demonstrates and understands the ICRC mandate, objectives of the delegation, protection department, and missing and forensic sub-files.

REQUIRED PROFILE:

A successful candidate will have:

· A bachelor's degree in medical, biological or forensic sciences

· 3 years’ minimum work experience in forensic, medico-legal practice, or related subject

· Experience within the criminal justice system is an asset

· Fluency in written/spoken English

· Excellent analytical skills

· Proven commitment towards highest forensic scientific and ethical standards

· Good communication skills

· Good computer skills
